Contribute to the U.S. Drought Monitor

The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) serves as a trigger for multiple forms of federal disaster relief for agricultural producers. There are multiple ways to contribute your observations.

  1. Talk to your state climatologist.
  2. Email droughtmonitor@unl.edu to inform the USDM authors.
  3. Become a Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network (CoCoRaHs) observer. Submit drought reports along with daily precipitation observations to the CoCoRaHS. https://www.cocorahs.org/
  4. Submit Condition Monitoring Observer Reports: go.unl.edu/CMOR.
