WEST TEXAS MESONET SOIL TEMPERATURES
|
The West Texas Mesonet has stations across the area that give up-to-the-minute readings of actual soil conditions, including soil water content, as well as soil temperatures. Daily minimums at the 8-inch depth (read from the "20-cm" column) are available on these web sites: First: http://www.mesonet.ttu.edu/latestobs/soil.html - This site gives soil water content at various depths, as well as soil temperatures for both bare ground and grass covered ground. Second: http://wedgefest.wind.ttu.edu/obs/TTU_CURR_SOIL.html - This site gives the current soil observations. These data are transmitted almost live, with the time of observation at the top of the page. The data is rarely more than a few minutes old. Third: http://wedgefest.wind.ttu.edu/obs/WTM_Summ_soil_yesterday.html - This site gives you yesterday's soil observations, just in case you missed getting your local numbers for yesterday. |
