Technical and Legislative Issues

Many points of discussion on cotton and things affecting the cotton industry fall into one of two categories, technical or legislative.

Technical - Technical issues may be defined as those that are concerned with the registration or re-registration of crop protection chemicals, (See TDA's Pesticide Program Web Site) , ongoing pest control programs, (such as the Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Program) , updates on activity prompted by the Endangered Species Act; (See EPA's Pesticide Web Site Pages) and others.

Legislative - Legisative issues may be defined as those issues that are currently working their way through the Congress or State Legislature. These issues can include items regarding funding or development of cotton-oriented programs, federal farm programs, trade programs, risk mangement and others. You can find the latest information on these types of issues on the What's News? page or in "Cotton News" .
