PCG Board Members Offer Testmony to
House Ag Committee Members
at San Angelo Hearing
May 9, 2006

A pair of PCG Board members were invited to testify before members of the House Committee on Agriculture at a May 9 Field Hearing conducted in San Angelo, Texas. The hearing is expected to be the only scheduled full Committee Field Hearing conducted in Texas leading up to the debate on the 2007 Farm Bill.

PCG Chairman Rickey Bearden and Board member Al Spinks were asked to be part of an eleven member panel representing agriculture interests across Texas. PCG President MIke Hughes and PCG Vice President Barry Evans also submitted written testimony to be included in the official record of the hearing.

Bearden currently serves as PCG Chairman and operates a 6,000 acre diversified family farming operation in Yoakum County, Texas producing cotton, peanuts, wheat, milo and black-eyed peas. Bearden's farming operation falls within the boundaries of the 19th Congressional District served by Congressman Randy Neugebauer of Lubbock. Neugebauer has served as a member of the Agriculture Committee since his election in 2003.

Spinks resides in MIdland County, Texas and operates a 3,000 acre cotton operation located in Texas' 11th Congressional District, which is represented on the Ag Committee by Congressman Mike Conaway of Midland.
